These be crazy times. I watched the MTV Video Music Awards last night and was amazed at how awesome the entire production was. Some people are unbelievably creative. I was extremely impressed with the Rihanna’s Disturbia performance. It was wicked awesome.
Fraternity stuff is going well. Broomball today, interviews tomorrow, our invite-only event on Wednesday and then Bid Day on Thursday. Then I can put a little more thought into my classes.
Speaking of classes, I’m loving them this semester. Statistics (finally I get to take more math, it’s easy and I will do well), Media Issues in American Pop Culture (hippie professor without a textbook), Political Ideologies (piece of cake class) and Plant Biology (arguably the easiest science class at ASU).
New favorite word, by the way is ‘hella’. Mainly because I can use it to annoy my roommate, Peter. But you can also use it in sentences that you want to stress how over-the-top something is. “That cactus is hella cool” or “That MILF is hella hot” or even “That professor is hella dumb.”
Kacie and I had a discussion the other day about her period cycle (and pregnancy, morning after pills, etc…main part I want to discuss is period cycles though) and how right before women get periods, they tend to be really moody. The discharge of fluid releases the hormones that cause the “mood imbalance” and then most women normalize to a less (excuse the french) bitchy attitude. So that got me thinking about male hormones and how men’s hormones tend to build up for a few months before we magically re-balance. And (finally to my practical relation to the topic) I think I just finished discharging lately because about a week ago, I felt like shit. Everything seemed like it was out of place and I was failing at life. But then, all of the sudden, I woke up and everything felt better! So Kacie and I still aren’t sure how men discharge their hormones but I am sure glad it happened.
Jenna and I also had dinner the other day and she brightened my mood. She has definitely been a major factor in relieving my stress. She’s had two of her good friends die within the past week, and I am amazed at the mental fortitude and optimism that she is sustaining through these hard times. I know times get shitty, but people work things out and finally find justification in the world’s workings. It’s people like Jenna that remind me that people are more than just numbers. Feelings, emotion and passion compose more than words can describe.
Enough of my ramblings. Crazy times call for crazy ramblings. I’ll catch you on the flip side.
